Dose to the reading
Not to a routine.
Not in a day. The chemistry drifted for a week and nobody tested it.
Pool chemistry moves with rain, heat and how many people have been in. Dosing on a fixed routine ignores all three, which is how a pool that looked fine on Monday turns by Thursday.
Testing every visit catches the drift while correcting it is cheap. Logging the readings turns single numbers into a pattern, and a pattern tells you whether the problem is the stabiliser, the filter or the weather.
Equipment gives warning too. Pressure creeping up or a pump sounding different is a service call now rather than a replacement later, which is the difference a weekly check makes.
Not to a routine.
Patterns are invisible in single readings.
Structural, electrical and major equipment go to licensed contractors.
